Texas Hold'em Poker is a very famous variant of online poker games. Beginning of Betting Rounds

Pre-Flop Betting Round

This is technically the first betting round. The players check in to each of their starting hands. If they feel that their hands are worth playing, they choose to continue playing by making bets. Some players might choose to check and later raise or fold depending on their hand strength.

There are 3 possible decisions players might take in this round:

Fold: They might choose to forfeit the pot because their hands are not worth playing.

Call: They make a bet that is equal in value to the big blind.

Re-raise: They re-raise by making a bet in multiples of the raise made as permitted by the betting structure of the game.

Fold, call, raise, and re-raise are known as action at the poker table. Each of the players will be making the respective action as suitable for their hand strength and the game progresses to the next round.

The betting round is said to be complete and the table is ready to move on to the next round, when each of the players have made an action and all the players who are heads up without folding have made equal amount of money in bet at the table. The sooner the betting round ends, the game progresses to the Flop.

The Flop Betting Round

In the flop round, the dealer burns a card face down in the center of the table and deals 3 cards face up. These 3 community cards are common cards to be used for draw by all the players at the table. These 3 community cards are known as the Flop Cards. Each of the players at the table will be making their hand with 2 of their pocket cards and 3 cards from the table.

After the players have thought through their draws, the action at the table begins with the player who is heads up, left from the dealer. Each of the players will be making the respective action as call, raise, re-raise, or fold as suitable for their hand strength and the game progresses to the Turn.

The Turn Betting Round

In the turn round, the dealer deals 1 card face up in the middle of the table. This 1 community card is also known as the Turn Card. Each of the players at the table will be making their hand with 2 of their pocket cards and by comparing the 3 Flop cards and the Turn Card from the table. At this stage, players who do not have any hope for winning hand formation would choose to fold the hand.

After the players have thought through their draws, the action at the table begins with the player who is heads up, left from the dealer. Each of the players will be making the respective action as call, raise, re-raise, or fold as suitable for their hand strength and the game progresses to the River.

The River Round

In the River round, the dealer deals 1 card face up in the middle of the table. This 1 community card is also known as the River Card. Each of the players at the table will be making their hand with 2 of their pocket cards and by comparing the 3 Flop cards, the 1 Turn Card and 1 River Card from the table. There are usually less numbers of players in the River round.

After the players have thought through their draws, the action at the table begins with the player who is heads up, left from the dealer. Each of the players who are still heads up will be making the respective action as call, raise, re-raise, or fold as suitable for their hand strength and the game progresses to the Show Down.

Show Down

The hands of heads up players are compared and the best hand wins the pot. If there is a tie, the pot is split between the two players.

The players cannot play the board. To qualify for the pot split, the hand that is made should be made from 2 pocket cards and any 3 cards from the board. Fulfilling the 2 + 3 rule is mandatory for the pot split.
